“Your Voice in Tackling Human Trafficking in Africa” – New Voices. New Perspectives.
Despite legal progress, human trafficking remains one of the most serious human rights violations in Africa. Women and children are particularly affected – in cities, slums, and remote rural regions. To confront this reality with grounded, locally rooted solutions, the Chair of African Legal Studies at the University of Bayreuth, in cooperation with the Africa Multiple Cluster of Excellence, organized an essay competition.
The result: A collection of 5 outstanding contributions by young African researchers and activists. Topics include:
- Community-based prevention
- Youth empowerment
- The role of technology
- Legal comparison & good practices
- Cultural education as a protective force
These essays offer not only critiques of existing systems but also concrete approaches for policymakers, civil society, and academia. The collection is available as a publication in the EPub database of the University of Bayreuth.
